DAILY PRAYER
Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciler of sinners, pray without ceasing for us who have recourse to you.
Remember, our Lady of La Salette, true Mother of sorrows, the tears which thou didst shed for me on Calvary;
be mindful also of the unceasing care which thou dost exercise to screen me from the justice of God;
and consider whether thou canst now abandon thy child, for whom thou hast done so much.
Inspired by this consoling thought, I come to cast myself at thy feet, in spite of my infidelity and ingratitude.
Reject not my prayer, O Virgin of reconciliation, convert me, obtain for me the grace to love Jesus Christ above all things and to console thee too by living a holy life, in order that one day I may be able to see thee in Heaven.
Amen.
Say:
Pater Noster – Our Father.
Áve María – Hail Mary.
Glória Pátri – Glory be to the Father.

Common Questions
When is the feast of Our Lady of La Salette, and when should I pray this novena?
The feast of Our Lady of La Salette is celebrated on September 19, the anniversary of her apparition to two shepherd children in A.D. 1846. The novena is traditionally prayed from September 10 through September 18, ending on the eve of the feast. It may also be prayed at any time when seeking reconciliation, whether with God, with family, or within one's own heart.
Who saw the apparition at La Salette?
On September 19, A.D. 1846, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to two shepherd children (Mélanie Calvat, age 14, and Maximin Giraud, age 11) on a mountainside in La Salette-Fallavaux, in the French Alps. The children encountered her seated and weeping, dressed in light and surrounded by a brilliance they later described as overwhelming. The Bishop of Grenoble formally approved the apparition in A.D. 1851 after rigorous investigation.
What was the message of Our Lady of La Salette?
Our Lady wept as she spoke, calling her children back to conversion: she lamented the neglect of Sunday worship and the abuse of God's name, and she warned that without prayer and penance, suffering would follow. Yet her tears were the tears of a Mother, pleading and not condemning. She is venerated above all as the 'Reconciler of Sinners,' drawing the faithful back to her Son through repentance and renewed love.
Who are the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette?
The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette are a Catholic religious congregation of priests and brothers founded in A.D. 1852 by the Bishop of Grenoble, just six years after the apparition, with the explicit mission of spreading the message of reconciliation entrusted to the children. Their motherhouse remains at the shrine of La Salette high in the French Alps, which welcomes pilgrims from around the world. The same charism, turning hearts back to Christ through Mary, animates La Salette communities of religious sisters and lay associates today.
